Sheldon Clark head football coach Shawn Hager is back. Hager was fired after he went to superintendent Steven Meadows complaining about the plumbing problems that caused raw sewage to accumulate in their locker room.

Mike Fields of Kentucky.com reported this.

Here is an excerpt.

Less than 24 hours after he was fired as Sheldon Clark’s football coach, Shawn Hager got his job back.

“I’m tickled to death because this is what I love to do,” said Hager, who’s in his 11th year as Cardinals coach.

Hager’s three-day suspension from teaching was also lifted.

The controversy surrounding Sheldon Clark football began last Friday when plumbing problems caused raw sewage to accumulate in the Cards’ locker room before their game with Betsy Layne.

Hager’s wife, Kelli, and another parent of a player went to Monday night’s school board meeting to voice their feelings.

Hager said when he went to see superintendent Steven Meadows on Tuesday to complain about the problem, “things kinda got heated,” he said. “I was just standing up for the kids and what was right.

“By the time I left the meeting, I’d been suspended from teaching and fired from coaching. It was like I was the scapegoat for something I had nothing to do with.

“I was totally blindsided.”
