Thursday it was announced that Rasheed Sulaimon was released from Duke by coach Mike Krzyzewski. While its unclear why he was released, Coach Krzyzewski did have this statement:
“Rasheed has been unable to consistently live up to the standards required to be a member of our program,” coach Mike Krzyzewski said in a statement. “After Rasheed repeatedly struggled to meet the necessary obligations, it became apparent that it was time to dismiss him from the program.”

Sulaimon was in good academic standing with the school which would eliminate academic reasons. He averaged 11.6 points per game last year as a freshman compared to 7.5 points per game this season. His minutes had also been reduced from 29 minutes to 19.3
