Morehead State Football: CSM Selects Seven Eagles to Preseason All-PFL Teams

MOREHEAD, Ky. – College Sports Madness has chosen seven Morehead State players on its 2014 Preseason All-Pioneer Football League Teams.

Senior slot receiver Brandon Bornhauser was a first-team pick as a kickoff returner and a second-team selection as a punt returner. Senior offensive lineman Joshua Brunner, senior defensive back Michael Jackson and junior defensive lineman Ronald Cooper were named to the second-team. Sophomore wide receiver Jake Raymond, senior running back Rees Macshara and junior offensive lineman Alex Hey were tabbed to the third-team.

Bornhauser averaged 26.7 yards on 22 kick returns and 7.8 yards on 14 punt returns in 2013.

Jackson ranked third on the team in 2013 with 72 tackles, including 45 solos. He also registered four tackles for loss, seven pass break-ups and three interceptions.

Cooper paced the defensive unit with 11 tackles for loss and 6.5 sacks last season. He also recorded 53 total tackles and recovered a fumble.

Brunner and Hey blocked for a unit that averaged 240 passing yards and 369 total yards. Morehead State allowed just 1.6 sacks per game, which ranked third in the PFL.

Raymond led MSU with 644 receiving yards on a team-best 56 receptions. He scored a pair of touchdowns and hauled in the Eagles’ longest reception of the year, a 64-yarder, against Butler.

Macshara led Morehead State with 534 rushing yards and scored four times via the ground game. He also generated 270 receiving yards and scored once through the air.
