The fifth-ranked Lindsey Wilson volleyball team host Pikeville Tuesday night.

COLUMBIA, Ky. – The fifth-ranked Lindsey Wilson volleyball team returns home on Tuesday night as they host Pikeville (Ky.) at Biggers Sports Center starting at 6:30 p.m. CT.

The Blue Raiders are currently 18-3 on the season and are 8-1 in the Mid-South Conference. Lindsey Wilson is two games ahead of Georgetown (Ky.) in the wins column, as the Blue Raiders hold a one-game lead over the Tigers.

In their last match, the Blue Raiders swept Shawnee State (Ohio); 25-23, 25-10 and 25-13. Lindsey Wilson posted a hitting percentage of .395, as Makenzie Montano guided the offense with 40 assists, as she earned the MSC Setter of the Week this week.

Carol Siqueira leads the team with 262 kills, which is 27th best in the nation, while Montano’s 733 assists is the 18th most in the NAIA. Both have led the Blue Raiders to the eighth best attacking percentage in country, at .278.



Pikeville is 11-15 on the season and is still searching for their first conference win as they are 0-10 on the season. In the last match for the Bears, they took on non-conference opponent Montreat (N.C.), and Pikeville was able to hold on to a 3-2 victory.

The Bears have 188 service aces this season, which is third most in the NAIA, as Savanna Zakman is fourth in the country with 51 service aces. Zakman also leads the team with 693 kills, while Sydney Hall has posted a team-high 219 kills.

Earlier this season, the Blue Raiders were able to defeat the Bears, 3-0, in Pikeville, Ky. Lindsey Wilson has won 18-straight matches against Pikeville.
