EKU VOLLEYBALL HOST MIDWEEK GAME AGAINST DAYTON

RICHMOND, Ky. –The Eastern Kentucky University volleyball team will play the University of Dayton Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. in Alumni Coliseum.

Eastern fell to Tennessee Tech Saturday in five. The Colonels’ Alexis Plagens had a match-high of 24 kills and senior Dena Ott led all players with 23 digs.

Ott is ranked first in the Ohio Valley Conference with 446 digs. EKU is ranked third in service aces with an average of 1.43 per set and in digs with an average of 15.79 per set. The Colonels are 6-2 in conference play.

Dayton played Rhode Island on Sunday resulting in a 3-0 win. The Flyers’ Alaina Turner had 10 kills accompanied by eight digs. She is ranked third in the NCAA with 947 total attacks and fourth in aces per set at 0.58. Janna Krafka had 15 digs and Isolde Hannan blocked seven balls.

The Flyers, in the Atlantic-10 Conference, are ranked first in hitting percentage at .247. They are ranked second with 2.54 blocks per set, 1.64 services aces per set and 12.69 assists per set. Dayton is third in digs, averaging 15.47 per set.

Dayton is 19-5 overall and 7-1 in conference play.
