The Pike County Central Hawks opened the 2015 baseball season Monday night at Johns Creek Field.

After falling behind early, Pike Central looked to be in control, up by four runs in the fourth inning, but Fleming Neon came back to grab a 15-10 win on Monday.

The top of the first saw Fleming Neon take an early 1-0 lead and the Pirates led 2-0 after two innings.

Fleming Neon added 2 more runs in the top of the third to take a 4-0 lead.

Central scored three runs of its own in the third. The Hawks scored on a two-run double by Brandon Turnmire and an RBI double by Evan Coleman.

Bryce Adkins racked up three RBIs on two hits for the Hawks. He singled in the third and fourth innings.

Fleming Neon matched its two-run third inning with two more in the sixth.

Fleming Neon piled on five more runs in the top of the seventh to take the lead 15-8. Pike Central was able to plate two more runs in the bottom of the seventh, but just couldn’t get over the hump.
